This is where good builders do their most important work: asking questions that don’t scale, killing ideas early instead of defending them publicly, separating signal from ego, and building taste before building products.
Most failure doesn’t come from bad execution. It comes from committing too early — to a narrative, an identity, or a version of the idea that hasn’t earned permanence.
Founder 0 resists that pressure.
There is no pitch yet.
No metrics worth sharing.
No audience to impress.
Just judgment, curiosity, and restraint.
This phase is quiet by design. Because once you ship version one, the world starts responding — and it becomes harder to hear yourself think.

The Founder 0 Day-0 Checklist
Before you build anything, answer these honestly:
- What problem am I personally close to — not just interested in?
- What assumption, if wrong, kills this idea immediately?
- What would make this idea not worth pursuing, even if it worked?
- What am I avoiding measuring because I’m afraid of the answer?
- If I couldn’t talk about this publicly for 6 months, would I still do it?
If you can’t answer these yet, you’re still at Founder 0.
That’s not a flaw. That’s the work.
